There’s no gainsaying that one of the absolute pinnacles of Cameroon’s cultural achievements in 2022 is comedy, and Kwoh Elonge known by his comic name, Aunty Felicia, and his pointy-nose black son, Sama Tanya, are not missing out.
Best known as “Mr. Caleé,” Sama Tanya is a model, actor, and digital marketer. To complement his modeling career, the sexy male model is gradually picking up an acting role in comedy, featuring in Aunty Felicia’s skits as the comedian’s son.
Kwoh Elonge, whose comic persona is Aunty Felicia, has recently risen to prominence as one of the best comedians in Cameroon.
Besides signing several deals with companies and making lots of endorsements, Aunty Felicia was the brain behind the highly acclaimed Virtuous Women Presidential Debate, an iconic comedy show where Sama Tanya also featured.
The comic persona is also the brand ambassador for Black & White Whisky by Guinness which Sama Tanya featured in the ad.
This is, however, not the first time Sama Tanya is taking up an acting role. What put him in the spotlight was the role he played in Cameroonian female sensation Daphne’s hit song, “Calee” in 2017. Through this song, he came to be fondly called “Mr. Calee.”
Daphne went on to spot her male vixen on the set, “Mdame tout le Monde” Rhytmz ft Mr. Leo and he has featured in several other songs and video clips.
The dark-skin model has gone on to create his own path in the fashion and media industries, gorgeously rocking made-in-Africa print pieces for several Cameroonian fashion brands. He has also signed many deals with companies in and out of Buea as a brand ambassador including Blue Empire Holdings as well as featured in video adverts like that of Vision Assurance.
Sama Tanya’s foray into comedy promises to be as rewarding as his stint in his modeling career.
