Moove, the trailblazing mobility fintech, has announced a groundbreaking infusion of $76 million in fresh funding, propelling its mission to transform global mobility financing. This landmark investment is a triumphant blend of $28 million in equity from established and new investors, masterfully orchestrated by the Mubadala Investment Company, alongside an insightful $10 million venture debt from funds managed by BlackRock.

To add to this remarkable feat, an additional $38 million from undisclosed sources accumulated over the past year has augmented this infusion. Moove, with its African roots, intends to leverage this investment to scale its pioneering tech-driven financial services platform for mobility entrepreneurs, solidifying its international presence.

Founded in 2020 as a response to the financial hurdles faced by over 2 million African mobility entrepreneurs, Moove has garnered global attention, expanding its reach across diverse regions. This latest funding round is poised to fuel its ambitious global expansion strategy, marked by introducing innovative products and a target to achieve profitability by year-end.

The investment signifies a powerful endorsement of Moove’s prowess in serving customers across both developing and developed markets, setting the stage for Faris Sohail Al Mazrui, Head of Ventures & Growth at Mubadala, to join Moove’s advisory board, fortifying a promising partnership.

Ladi Delano, Co-founder and Co-CEO of Moove affirmed: “Our collaboration with Mubadala and BlackRock will enable us to amplify our successes in flourishing markets such as the UAE, India, UK, and South Africa. We are committed to enhancing customer experiences, fast-tracking product development, and achieving group-wide profitability within the next year.”

Faris Sohail Al Mazrui, Head of Ventures & Growth at Mubadala, emphasized that Moove’s scalable tech-enabled platform has unlocked access to credit and financial services for mobility entrepreneurs worldwide. “This untapped market holds immense long-term potential and aligns perfectly with our vision.”

Driving Innovation on a Global Scale

Since its inception, Moove has soared, boasting an astounding 17-fold increase in revenue post-Series A fundraising two years ago. Empowering more than 12,000 customers who have completed a staggering 22 million trips in Moove-financed vehicles across 13 markets, Moove stands as Uber’s EMEA’s largest vehicle financing partner. In just four months of operation, the company commands the largest electric vehicle fleet by supply hours on the Uber platform in the UAE.

Sean Dunne, Managing Director of BlackRock (formerly Kreos Capital), affirmed, “Moove’s role in driving mobility electrification is pivotal. By granting access to finance and enabling participation in the mobility sector transformation, Moove is positioned to lead the way.”

The infusion, according to Ladi Delano, accelerates Moove’s mission, extending life-changing opportunities to entrepreneurs. “Witnessing customers shape better lives for themselves and their families fills us with pride, and this investment will catalyze our ability to reach even more aspiring entrepreneurs.”

Transforming Entrepreneurial Journeys

Moove, as an impact-focused fintech, bridges financial gaps for the unbanked or underserved, enabling revenue-based financing and a pathway to financial stability. In a rapidly evolving mobility landscape, Moove emerges as the partner of choice for mobility entrepreneurs worldwide, poised to harness the escalating demand for mobility solutions.
